* We had a great time last weekend playing for the Back to School event at Wingate UMC and then to the mountains to play for our old friends at Crossfire. These were our first two gigs to play since we took our break to write songs and have babies and it went really well. We broke our three of our new songs that will be on our upcoming CD: 121, Rescue Me and Light and I think the crowd response was excellent. We also pulled out a new cover we had worked on that seemed to be a pleaser: Your Grace is Enough.

* The recording is going well and we are now approximately halfway through the tracking. We hope to be done with tracking this month and then its off to production...

* For those of you interested, SoF will be giving way FREEBEES at the Cabarrus County Fair on Sunday including T-Shirts and frisbee's. Please come out and support us and try to snatch a momento.

Wednesday, August 20, 2008
* Recording for the new album is going great! We wrapped up the primary tracking for drums on Saturday, and Sean has completed all but 3 songs on bass. I hope to leak a little information out with each update on the new CD, and here is today's tidbit... The songs from our original demo that are being recorded for the new CD are.... <drum roll> ...

* Angie
* This Side of Heaven
* Pick Me

The other songs are brand new and one will likely be the title track for the CD... Stay tuned for more!

* SoF has added 2 more performances to the schedule. We will be playing in Wingate, NC on Saturday (Aug 23) and returning to The Inn in Salisbury in September.

Thursday, July 3, 2008
* Big news and changes coming!

* Sound of Faith has wrapped up writing 11 new songs for the new CD and will begin recording later this month. The new, as yet untitled CD will be out late in 2008 and will include those 11 new songs as well as new versions of SoF favorites.

* As part of the CD launch, several changes will be coming! These include a new website, new merchandise to purchase, more dates to see SoF live and much more! Stay tuned for updates!

Monday, June 30, 2008
* Sound of Faith will be heading back to Crossfire UMC to play for our friends there on August 24th. See you there!

Wednesday, June 18, 2008
* Congratulations to Michael & Jennifer Deese on the birth of their twins Jonathan and Patrick Deese, born on June 12! Both babies and parents are doing well.

Wednesday, May 21, 2008
* Sound of Faith has been asked to play at the Christian Music Day at the Cabarrus County Fair on Sunday, Sept 7th! See the schedule for more details.

Monday, April 7, 2008
There have not been a lot of updates lately, but there is a LOT going on!

* First a BIG thank you to the folks at Crossfire UMC who gave us a great reception and were a great crowd for our final gig for a while...

* Our final gig ?!?! -- What do you mean ?!?!? -- Relax, Sound of Faith is not going anywhere, but BIG things are going on with Sound of Faith. We are currently in the studio writing and recording our first full length CD! We hope to release it by the end of the 2008. As such, we have suspended touring while we wrap up a lot of the writing and recording work... oh yeah... and...

* Congratulations to vocalist Jennifer Deese and guitarist Michael Deese who are expecting identical twin boys this summer! (Which is another reason we are not traveling quite so much :-) )

* Sound of Faith expects to start booking new gigs by the end of the summer so stay tuned for lots more!

Well, holidays have come and gone and we keep on keeping on!

As part of a fund-raising benefit for the Lancaster Children's Home, Sound of Faith played at the Children's Home Jam '08 last Saturday along with 39 Lashes, Latter Rain, Crossfire's Worship Team and Beyond. We were privilidged to be able to help raise over $2000 for the Home who had recently lost some of their other sources of funding and were in a dire financial situation. The effort was headed up by none other than Sound of Faith drummer Ronny Butler and was a great success! Thank you for all of your hard work Ronny!

Watch for Sound of Faith -- Returning to Crossfire on March 9th!.

Also, for those who don't know, lead vocalist Jennifer Deese and guitarist Michael Deese are expecting TWINS!

Pastor Jam was awesome! I was a little unsure what to think, being a rock band taking the stage after several very talented Southern Gospel groups (The Dosses, Brenda Ruppe, King's Cause , and The Pathfinders), but the the people there were great and we helped raise money for a very special pastor who needed it.

Sound of Faith will be returning to Mt. Olivet UMC for Coffee House 5 on Sept 30... See the schedule page for more details... Stay tuned for more to come!

Tuesday, August 21, 2007
Sound of Faith is coming off of a big high with a busy weekend behind us and more coming soon. Ichthys was a lot of fun and we were able to rock on stage for a bit before communion and then latter enjoy 39 Lashes and Latter Rain who were great on stage and a lot of fun to talk to as well. Sunday was our return to Redeemer's Light and as always, it was a powerful experience.

* Just added -- Sound of Faith will be returning to Trinity UMC on Sept 16 to perform at their contemporary service.

* On a melancholy note -- We say goodbye to Tasha, who we enjoyed being back with us this summer. Tasha currently lives in Portugal and was back in the States for the summer so she practiced and played with us on several gigs, but will return to Europe next week.

* Off to Pastor Jam this Saturday and stay tuned for more!

Thursday, August 2, 2007

About one of the new events on the Schedule:
Sound of Faith has been asked to participate in a benefit concert for a minister in Lancaster, SC. Reverend Pat Minihane of Antioch Baptist Church was operated on for a cancerous brain tumor, and is now undergoing chemotherapy. The pastor was without medical insurance coverage, and has incurred massive medical bills. The benefit concert is being planned as this is written. The event will be held at Second Baptist Church in Lancaster, SC on Saturday, August 25th. There will be several Southern Gospel groups appearing, and Sound of Faith will appear with other Contemporary Praise and Worship bands. More details will be posted as they become available. We are happy to be able to help and hope that you can plan to attend.
